The NU-CALGON 4162-07-01 Degreasing Solvent EF is an ozone-safe, volatile cleaning solvent formulated to remove grease and oil quickly from electrical, electronic, and mechanical components. It dissolves contaminants in seconds, dries at a controlled rate, and leaves absolutely no residue behind. With a dielectric strength greater than 26,000 volts, it is safe for use on energized electrical equipment. The solvent is non-corrosive and colorless, with a specific gravity of 0.977 (8.2 pounds per gallon). It is intended for use by service professionals, HVAC technicians, electricians, electric motor and compressor rebuilders, and appliance repair technicians.
Degreasing Solvent EF is suited for cleaning electrical and electronic equipment, metal parts, and components found in residential and commercial HVAC systems, appliances, and metalworking environments. It can be applied with a cloth, brush, or sprayer, or used as a soak bath for heavily contaminated parts. It may also serve as a flushing compound following compressor burnouts or prior to system conversion to HFC refrigerants. It will not damage metals, most plastics, rubber, or insulating materials under normal use conditions. Where prolonged contact is required, test paints, plastics, and rubber parts for solvent resistance before full application.
Designed for use on electrical and electronic equipment, metal parts, HVAC components, compressors, electric motors, and general metalworking and appliance repair applications. Suitable for use as a flushing compound prior to HFC refrigerant system conversions.
Apply wearing appropriate chemical-resistant gloves. For general cleaning, apply undiluted solvent to the target surface using a cloth, brush, or sprayer; unusually greasy parts may be soaked directly in the product. Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area when using solvent-based cleaners. Test paints, plastics, and rubber components for solvent compatibility before extended or soaking contact.
