The NORTON 61463610354 is a square-profile silicon carbide dressing stick designed to true, dress, and open the face of vitrified and superabrasive grinding wheels. At 24 grit, this very coarse stick removes loading and glazing quickly, restoring wheel geometry and cutting action without requiring abrasive wheel removal from the machine. The vitrified bond provides consistent breakdown and a hard, uniform structure suited to heavy stock removal from the wheel face. It is used by grinding machine operators and toolroom technicians in production and maintenance settings.
This dressing stick is intended for use on vitrified bond grinding wheels and superabrasive wheels including CBN and diamond wheel types. Its square cross-section and 6-inch length make it easy to register against a tool rest or fixture for controlled, repeatable contact. Typical applications include surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and bench grinders where wheel face condition directly affects workpiece finish and dimensional accuracy. The black silicon carbide abrasive is well suited for dressing harder wheel bonds.
Rated for use on superabrasive wheels and vitrified bond grinding wheels. Confirm wheel bond type and dresser grit selection against wheel manufacturer dressing recommendations before use.
Dressing sticks are applied by grinding machine operators and toolroom technicians. Always power down and fully stop the grinding wheel spindle before inspecting wheel condition; apply the dressing stick only to a running wheel at the designed surface speed with all machine guards in place. Use a tool rest or fixture to maintain consistent angle and pressure during dressing. Follow the machine manufacturer and wheel manufacturer dressing procedures for feed rate and depth of dress.
