The MUELLER STREAMLINE W4004 is a wrot copper sweat reducing tee designed for pressure and supply plumbing systems. It connects three lines at a single junction point, allowing a main run to reduce down to a smaller branch outlet. The sweat end style requires soldering to copper tubing using standard plumbing torch technique. Nominal size is 3/8 x 1/4 x 1/4 inches with an OD dimension of 1/2 x 3/8 x 3/8 inches. This fitting is domestically manufactured and suited for potable water supply, hydronic, and general pressurized copper piping systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This reducing tee is used in residential and light commercial plumbing where a copper distribution line needs to branch off to a smaller diameter line. Typical applications include domestic water supply systems, radiant heating distribution, and refrigeration or HVAC copper line sets where a pressure-rated reducing junction is required. The sweat connection style makes it compatible with standard Type L and Type M copper tubing in the corresponding sizes.
Designed as an OEM-style solder-joint fitting for use with standard copper tubing in residential and commercial pressurized plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local codes and the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting into any existing line. Clean all tubing ends and fitting sockets with emery cloth and apply flux before soldering. Avoid overheating the fitting, as excessive heat can damage the copper and compromise the joint.
