The MILWAUKEE TOOL 49-57-5325 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads on fasteners and threaded rod. Part of the Hex-LOK series, this die cuts a 10-24 UNC right-hand thread profile and seats into a standard 1.0 inch hex driver or rethreading handle for secure, slip-free engagement during use. The body is machined from carbon steel for durability in field and shop applications. At 0.07 pounds and a thickness of 0.5 inches, it is compact enough for a tool pouch or service bag. Maintenance technicians, electricians, plumbers, and general tradespeople use this die to clean and restore thread integrity without full fastener replacement.
This rethreading die is suited for residential and commercial maintenance work where threaded fasteners have been exposed to corrosion, paint overspray, impact damage, or cross-threading. It is a practical addition to any service kit used on mechanical equipment, electrical enclosures, HVAC access panels, pipe hangers, and structural hardware. The 10-24 UNC designation covers a widely used coarse-thread fastener size common across trade applications. This die is sold as a single unit and is intended for hand-driven or wrench-driven rethreading operations.
Designed for use with 1.0 inch hex rethreading handles and Hex-LOK series rethreading sets. Intended for use on 10-24 UNC externally threaded fasteners and rod.
Rethreading dies are typically used by licensed tradespeople performing maintenance or repair work. Before rethreading any fastener on energized equipment, de-energize and lock out the system per applicable OSHA and NFPA 70E procedures. Thread the die straight onto the damaged fastener using steady, even pressure and back off periodically to clear chips. Do not force the die past resistance, as this can further damage the fastener or the die itself.
