The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 9622424LF is a lead-free bronze pack joint coupling designed for joining copper tubing size (CTS) lines in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Both ends accept 1-1/2 inch CTS connections using a compression-style pack joint design that does not require soldering, threading, or special tooling. The lead-free bronze construction meets drinking water safety requirements, making this coupling suitable for potable water applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this fitting during new construction, repair, or retrofit work where a reliable, tool-friendly CTS-to-CTS connection is needed.
This coupling is used in residential and commercial plumbing systems where copper tubing runs require a union or splice. Pack joint fittings are common in water supply lines, fixture connections, and service line repairs. The CTS-to-CTS configuration accommodates standard copper or flexible polyethylene tubing in like-size configurations. At 1-1/2 inches on both ends, this fitting is sized for drain, waste, and supply applications where that nominal diameter is specified. No flame or flux is required, which makes it well-suited for confined spaces or situations where open flame is restricted.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit pack joint coupling for 1-1/2 inch CTS plumbing lines in residential and light commercial potable water and supply systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure completely before cutting or disconnecting any tubing. Ensure tubing ends are cut square and deburred before seating into the pack joint to achieve a proper seal. Do not overtighten the compression nut beyond hand-tight plus the manufacturer-recommended turns, and inspect for leaks after restoring pressure.
