The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 77214 is a wrot copper solder joint coupling with a rolled tube stop, designed for joining 4-inch copper tubing in sweat (C x C) connections. The rolled tube stop centers the pipe and ensures consistent solder joint depth, which improves joint integrity and reduces the chance of incomplete penetration. This fitting is rated for service from 32 degrees F to 200 degrees F and weighs 2.01 pounds. It is used in pressure-rated copper piping systems and is installed by licensed plumbers working on commercial and residential plumbing, hydronic heating, and mechanical piping applications.
The 77214 is suited for 4-inch copper sweat systems in commercial plumbing, mechanical rooms, and large-diameter residential service lines. The C x C end configuration accepts standard copper tubing on both sides, making it a straightforward in-line coupling for extending or repairing existing runs. Its wrot copper construction meets the material requirements for potable water and hydronic systems where cast fittings are not specified.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat fitting for 4-inch nominal copper tubing systems using standard C x C solder joint connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and local adopted amendments. De-pressurize and drain the system before cutting into an existing line, and ensure all pipe ends are fully deburred, cleaned, and fluxed before soldering. Use appropriate torch and solder rated for the application - never use acid-core solder on potable water systems. Allow the joint to cool completely before restoring system pressure.
