The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 700066-0812 is a lead-free brass female coupling designed to transition a 1/2-inch compression connection to a 3/4-inch female NPTF threaded port. The fitting is manufactured from lead-free brass, making it suitable for potable water applications where lead-free compliance is required. It measures 1.75 inches in length, 1.2 inches in width, and 1.1 inches in height, with a weight of 0.2 pounds. Thread specification is 11/16-20 on the compression side and 3/4-14 NPTF on the female threaded side. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in residential and light commercial water supply systems.
This coupling is rated for a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, giving it a wide service envelope that covers cold water supply, hot water distribution, and general fluid handling lines. The compression end accepts copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing, making it a versatile choice when connecting soft or rigid tubing to a fixed female NPTF port. Typical installations include under-sink supply connections, water heater piping, and branch line transitions where a compression-to-pipe-thread adapter is needed.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing on the compression side. Compatible with standard 3/4-inch female NPTF threaded fittings and ports on the outlet side.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the tubing, then use an appropriately sized wrench to seat the ferrule - do not over-tighten, as this can deform soft tubing or crack the fitting body. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPTF threads before making up the threaded connection, and inspect for leaks after restoring system pressure.
