The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 63760B1 is a barstock hex socket countersunk plug designed to seal open ports in piping systems. Machined from 316 stainless steel, it offers reliable corrosion resistance in harsh service environments including chemical, marine, and industrial applications. The countersunk hex socket design accepts an Allen wrench or hex key for installation in tight or recessed spaces where a standard hex head plug will not fit. Rated to 1000 psi, this plug is suited for high-pressure lines where a secure, leak-free seal is required. It is commonly installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians.
This plug is used to dead-end or cap off 1/8-inch NPT female threaded ports on valves, manifolds, pipe tees, and equipment housings. Applications span residential and commercial plumbing, hydraulic systems, pneumatic lines, and fluid process piping where stainless steel construction is specified for corrosion resistance or sanitary requirements. Its compact profile makes it well suited for close-quarters port locations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for piping systems with 1/8-inch female NPT threaded ports requiring a stainless steel plug rated at 1000 psi or above.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Depressurize and isolate the system before removing or installing any threaded plug. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads before installation. Do not overtighten, as barstock stainless fittings can gall if excessive force is applied without proper lubrication.
