The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 20024C is a reducing push-to-connect union designed to join two different tube sizes in a single inline connection. The composite body construction makes it lightweight and corrosion resistant, suitable for potable water, compressed air, and similar fluid handling systems. One end accepts 1/2-inch tubing and the other accepts 3/8-inch tubing, both via tool-free push-to-connect insertion. Rated to 150 psi and suitable for operating temperatures between 32 degrees F and 140 degrees F, this union is sized for residential and light commercial plumbing, pneumatic, and HVAC condensate or refrigerant drain applications. Plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers.
This fitting is used wherever a tubing run transitions from 1/2-inch to 3/8-inch outside diameter. Common scenarios include branch supply lines, condensate drain connections, potable water distribution, and pneumatic control tubing in residential and light commercial systems. The push-to-connect design eliminates soldering, threading, or crimping at the fitting, making it well suited for tight spaces or retrofit work where torch access is limited or prohibited. It is appropriate for use with compatible plastic or copper tubing within the rated temperature and pressure range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation push-to-connect union for systems using 1/2-inch and 3/8-inch outside diameter tubing within the composite push-to-connect product family.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and the IPC or IFGC as relevant to the system type. Before installing or removing the fitting, shut off and depressurize the supply line completely. Tubing ends must be cut cleanly and squarely, deburred, and inserted to full depth for a proper seal. Do not exceed the rated 150 psi working pressure or the 140 degrees F temperature limit on the composite body.
