The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 18032020 is a 45-degree adapter elbow fitting designed for high-pressure hydraulic systems. It transitions between a 1-1/4-inch Male JIC (MJIC) connection and a 1-1/4-inch Code 62 flanged connection, using a 1-5/8-12 thread form. Constructed from steel, this fitting is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 6000 psi, making it suitable for demanding mobile and industrial hydraulic circuits. The 45-degree body angle allows directional routing of hydraulic lines in tight equipment envelopes where straight or 90-degree fittings are not practical. Hydraulic technicians and equipment mechanics install this type of fitting when connecting JIC-terminated hose assemblies to Code 62 flange ports on pumps, motors, valves, or manifolds.
This fitting is used in steel hydraulic plumbing on mobile equipment, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, and industrial power units. The Code 62 flange connection conforms to SAE J518 Code 62 four-bolt split-flange standards, common in high-pressure hydraulic systems exceeding 3000 psi. The MJIC end connects to standard 37-degree flare JIC hydraulic hose fittings. It is cataloged in the 1803 Series, covering MJIC to Code 62 flange 45-degree elbows.
Designed for use in hydraulic systems utilizing SAE J518 Code 62 four-bolt split-flange ports and standard 37-degree JIC flare hose assemblies. Suitable for high-pressure hydraulic circuits on mobile equipment, agricultural, and industrial machinery.
Installation should be performed by a qualified hydraulic technician or mechanic. Depressurize and isolate the hydraulic circuit completely before disconnecting or installing any fittings. Inspect the JIC flare seat and Code 62 flange sealing surfaces for damage or contamination before assembly. Torque flange bolts and JIC connections evenly and verify the system for leaks before returning equipment to service.
