The MERIT BRASS MB11480 is a 3/4 inch copper 45-degree press elbow designed for push-to-connect installation in residential and commercial plumbing systems. It provides a reliable directional change in copper piping without soldering, torch work, or threaded connections. Rated to 300 psi maximum working pressure and suitable for temperatures from 0 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this fitting is built for demanding service conditions. Compliant with IAPMO PS117 and NSF-61/372, it meets lead-free standards required for potable water systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of new construction, remodel, or retrofit work.
The MB11480 is suited for 3/4 inch copper pipe runs requiring a 45-degree directional offset. Typical applications include domestic water supply, hydronic heating distribution, and radiant system branch lines. Its press-style connection method is well matched to tight spaces where torch access is limited or where open-flame work is restricted by code. The push-to-connect end eliminates soldering labor, making it a practical choice on both new copper runs and repair work where line draining is complete.
Designed as an OEM-style press elbow for 3/4 inch copper pipe systems using push-to-connect press fittings with an outside diameter of 1.252 inches.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following local plumbing code and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and fully depressurize and drain the line before inserting the fitting. Ensure pipe ends are cut square, deburred, and cleaned before pressing. Use only a compatible press tool rated for copper press fittings — do not substitute crimp or compression tooling.
