The MARKAL 41219 is a premium-grade pipe thread sealant paste formulated with PTFE for use across a wide range of piping materials and service applications. It comes in a 1/2-pint container with a brush integrated into the cap for clean, controlled application. The paste seals threaded connections against leaks on water, air, steam, natural gas, LP gas, refrigerants, ammonia, gasoline, and oil systems. Licensed tradespeople in HVAC, plumbing, and gas service rely on this type of compound to meet code-required leak-free joints on both new installs and retrofits.
The 41219 is suited for residential and commercial applications wherever threaded pipe connections require a reliable, code-acceptable sealant. It works on metal pipe threads as well as PVC, CPVC, and ABS plastic threads, making it a versatile single-product solution across plumbing rough-in, gas piping, refrigeration lines, and compressed air systems. The USDA approves this product for use in federally inspected meat and poultry processing plants, extending its range to food-service and industrial facilities.
Designed for use on metal, PVC, CPVC, and ABS plastic pipe threads across water, air, steam, natural gas, LP gas, refrigerant, ammonia, gasoline, and oil service systems.
Apply this sealant to male threads only, leaving the first one or two threads bare to prevent paste from entering the pipe bore. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before disassembling or making up any threaded joint. Plumbers and HVAC-R technicians should verify that the selected sealant compound is acceptable under local plumbing and mechanical codes, including IPC and IFGC requirements, before use on gas or potable water lines. Allow adequate cure time before pressurizing the joint per the manufacturer application chart.
