The MANITOWOC 13577 is a normally closed high-pressure cutout (HPC) switch designed for use in commercial ice machine refrigeration systems. It opens the control circuit when refrigerant discharge pressure reaches 350 psi and automatically resets when pressure drops to 250 psi, protecting the compressor and system components from damage caused by abnormally high head pressure. Licensed refrigeration technicians and commercial appliance service professionals install this switch as a safety control in the high-side refrigerant circuit.
This switch is intended for commercial ice machine applications where reliable high-pressure protection is required. It fits into the high-side service port or dedicated pressure port in the refrigerant circuit, typically on the discharge line between the compressor and condenser. The normally closed configuration keeps the control circuit active under normal operating conditions, interrupting it only when the set-point pressure is exceeded.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement high-pressure cutout switch for Manitowoc Ice commercial ice machine refrigeration systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC-R or refrigeration technician in accordance with applicable local codes and EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling regulations. Recover refrigerant and depressurize the high-side circuit before removing the existing switch. Verify the replacement switch threads and pressure ratings match the original before installation. Restore refrigerant charge and confirm proper cut-out and reset function before returning the unit to service.
