The LEVITON TELCOM MT820-IGW is a Lev-Lok modular wiring device designed as a tamper-resistant, hospital-grade, isolated-ground duplex receptacle. Built for demanding electrical installations, it combines a tamper-resistant shutter mechanism with an isolated ground configuration that reduces electrical noise on sensitive equipment circuits. Hospital-grade construction meets stringent pull-out and impact requirements mandated for patient-care areas. Licensed electricians install this receptacle in healthcare facilities, laboratories, and other locations where equipment-grounding integrity and safety are critical requirements.
This receptacle fits into the Lev-Lok modular device system, which allows snap-in installation into compatible Lev-Lok wallplates and frames without individual device screws. Its isolated ground design makes it well-suited for circuits serving sensitive electronic equipment, medical instrumentation, and audio-visual systems where a clean, noise-free ground reference is required. The tamper-resistant feature satisfies NEC requirements for receptacles installed in locations accessible to non-qualified personnel, including patient rooms and public corridors in healthcare environments.
Designed for use within the Leviton Lev-Lok modular wiring device system. Compatible with Lev-Lok wallplates and multi-gang frames that accept standard Lev-Lok snap-in devices. Confirm wallplate and frame compatibility with Lev-Lok system documentation before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) and applicable local codes, including healthcare facility electrical standards where relevant. De-energize and lock out the circuit at the panel before removing an existing device or wiring the new receptacle. The isolated ground conductor must be run continuously back to the panel or isolated ground bus without intermediate connections to the equipment grounding conductor. Verify that the Lev-Lok frame and wallplate are fully seated and latched after device installation.
