The LEVITON TELCOM MT820-IGT is a Lev-Lok tamper resistant, hospital grade, isolated ground duplex receptacle designed for demanding electrical installations where power quality and safety are critical. It features a Lev-Lok locking configuration that secures the plug to the receptacle, reducing accidental disconnection in high-traffic or critical-care environments. The isolated ground design helps minimize electrical noise on sensitive equipment circuits. Tamper resistant shutters block foreign object insertion, meeting current NEC requirements for tamper resistance in applicable locations. Licensed electricians are the primary installers of this device.
This receptacle is suited for hospital, medical facility, laboratory, and other commercial or institutional electrical installations where isolated grounding is required to protect sensitive electronic equipment from power line noise and interference. The hospital grade rating indicates it meets rigorous construction and testing standards for durability and reliability in healthcare settings. The Lev-Lok locking feature makes it appropriate for critical circuits where accidental unplugging poses a safety or operational risk.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation duplex receptacle for commercial, institutional, and hospital grade electrical wiring systems requiring isolated ground and tamper resistance.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify the circuit is de-energized with a voltage tester before beginning work. The isolated ground conductor must be run separately from the equipment grounding conductor back to the panel as required by NEC Article 250. Do not connect the isolated ground terminal to the standard equipment ground at the device location.
