The Larsen Supply Co 10-0013 is a reducing adapter designed to connect a 1/2-inch Iron Pipe Size (IPS) supply line to a 3/8-inch female compression thread fitting. This type of transition fitting is a staple in residential and light commercial plumbing rough-in and fixture supply work. It allows a plumber to step down from a standard 1/2-inch IPS stub-out to the 3/8-inch compression inlet common on faucets, toilets, and angle stops. Each unit ships carded and is sold in packages of 6, making it practical for service vans and supply stock.
This reducing adapter is used where a 1/2-inch IPS supply line must terminate at a 3/8-inch compression connection. Typical applications include toilet supply connections, under-sink faucet supply risers, and fixture shut-off valve installations in residential construction and remodel work. The carded packaging keeps hardware organized on the truck or at the job site. Licensed plumbers and finish trim carpenters familiar with fixture rough-in will encounter this fitting regularly in standard residential plumbing installations.
Designed as a standard reducing adapter for residential plumbing applications requiring a transition from a 1/2-inch IPS supply stub-out to a 3/8-inch female compression fitting connection.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified tradesperson. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before making any connections. Hand-tighten the compression fitting first, then use an appropriately sized wrench for final tightening — avoid overtightening, which can crack the compression nut or distort the ferrule. Follow local plumbing code requirements, including applicable IPC provisions for supply line connections and approved materials.
