The KURT AJ600-47 is a flat, fixed replacement vise jaw designed for use with 6-inch vises in machine shop and industrial workholding applications. Measuring 5.969 inches wide, 1.88 inches high, and 0.725 inches thick, this steel jaw provides a rigid, serrated gripping surface that holds workpieces securely during milling, drilling, and grinding operations. The bolt-on attachment method ensures a stable, repeatable mount with no jaw flex during heavy cuts. Installation requires a low head cap screw. This jaw is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians as a direct replacement or upgrade to worn fixed jaw components.
This jaw is suited for standard 6-inch precision machine vises in both production and toolroom environments. The serrated surface texture improves grip on flat-faced workpieces without requiring additional jaw pads. It is a fixed jaw, meaning it does not travel with the vise screw, and serves as the stationary reference face for workpiece location. Typical applications include horizontal and vertical milling setups where a reliable fixed datum surface is required.
Designed for use with 6-inch vises. Installation requires a low head cap screw, MSC Part 09219783.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out any machine before servicing vise components mounted on the table. Use the specified low head cap screw to secure the jaw; do not substitute standard-height fasteners, as clearance may be insufficient. Verify jaw seating and fastener torque before returning the vise to service.
