The KENNAMETAL 7093836 is a CCMT-style carbide turning insert engineered for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, a diamond insert shape with an 80-degree included angle, and a 7-degree relief angle. The 0.008-inch corner radius and LF chip breaker geometry make it well-suited for finishing and light-to-medium turning passes where tight tolerances and surface finish are critical. Neutral hand orientation allows flexible toolholder pairing. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments will find this insert appropriate for a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
This insert is used in external turning applications on CNC turning centers and manual lathes. The CCMT insert style fits standard CCMT-compatible toolholders. With two cutting edges per insert, it offers back-up cutting capacity before replacement. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, supporting higher cutting speeds and extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. It is sold individually, with a minimum order of 5 units per transaction.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for CCMT-compatible turning toolholders accepting inserts with insert size code 21505 and clearance code C.
This insert is installed and serviced by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench or insert clamp tool specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the insert. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping the cutting edges prior to use.
