The KENNAMETAL 7093126 is a CCMT-style carbide turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured to CCMT tolerances, this insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.40 mm (1/64 inch) corner radius suited for semi-finish to finish turning passes. The AlTiN coating and KCU10B carbide grade deliver heat resistance and edge stability during moderate to high cutting speeds. The FW chip breaker geometry promotes reliable chip control across a range of depths of cut and feed rates.
This insert is used in general turning applications on steel, alloy steel, and similar workpiece materials where a neutral-hand insert with consistent dimensional tolerance is required. It is suited for both production shop environments and job shop setups requiring repeatable surface finish results. The insert mounts in standard CCMT toolholders and is appropriate for both roughing and finish turning depending on cutting parameters selected by the machinist.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard CCMT toolholders accepting inserts with a 5/32-inch thickness and 5/32-inch width, per ISO and ANSI CCMT insert specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and seating specifications for CCMT inserts. Ensure the toolholder pocket and insert seat are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert and pocket for damage each time the insert is indexed to a new cutting edge.
