The KENNAMETAL 7064754 is a solid carbide hexagon milling insert designed for high-performance face and shoulder milling operations. It carries the HNGJ insert style and is manufactured to KENNAMETAL grade KCSM40, a PVD-coated carbide grade featuring a TiAlN and TiN dual-layer coating optimized for wear resistance and thermal stability. The insert measures 0.6250 inches in both length and width with an inscribed circle of 0.6250 inches and a thickness of 0.2260 inches. With 12 cutting edges on a double-sided configuration and a positive rake geometry, this insert delivers efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces in demanding applications. It is installed by machinists and CNC tool technicians in production milling environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, and S. The HNGJ535 insert size code and hexagonal shape make it compatible with KENNAMETAL Dodeka cutter series toolholders. It is a right-hand insert with a GM chip breaker geometry, a honed cutting edge style, and a corner radius of 3/64 inch (0.0470 inches). Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.1770 inches. This insert is a fit for high-productivity roughing and semi-finishing passes on CNC machining centers where tool life and edge count are priorities.
Designed for use with the KENNAMETAL Dodeka cutter series. ANSI code HNGJ535ANERGM and ISO code HNGJ0905ANERGM. Conforms to ANSI and ISO insert standards.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key driver specified for the Dodeka cutter body to engage the screw-retention system. Inspect the insert pocket for damage or debris before seating a new insert, and confirm the insert is fully seated and secured before resuming machine operation.
