The KENNAMETAL 7061026 is an external, right-hand indexable grooving and cut-off toolholder designed for precision groove turning and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built on the A4 series platform with a square shank configuration, it accepts A4-seat size 3 inserts secured by a clamp-style holding method. The toolholder features integrated coolant-through capability to improve chip evacuation and extend insert life during deep or narrow grooving passes. Constructed from steel, it provides the rigidity needed to hold tight tolerances in both production and job-shop environments. The shank measures 1 inch by 1 inch in cross-section with an overall length of 6 inches.
This toolholder is suited for external grooving and cut-off applications on workpieces where groove widths between 3.00 millimeters minimum and 0.1250 inches maximum are required. Maximum depth of cut reaches 17.00 millimeters, making it appropriate for moderate-depth grooving on steel, stainless, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and CNC programmers in production machining, aerospace component work, and general metalworking will find it a direct fit for lathe setups requiring consistent, repeatable groove geometry. The right-hand orientation is standard for conventional turning configurations.
Compatible with A4-seat size 3 indexable inserts. Insert seat size is 3.0. Designed for use in standard square-shank tool blocks and lathe turrets accepting 1-inch by 1-inch shanks.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down the machine and confirm the spindle is fully stopped before mounting or removing the toolholder. Secure the shank firmly in the tool block using the appropriate fasteners to eliminate overhang and minimize vibration. When connecting the coolant-through supply line, verify the machine coolant system pressure is compatible with the toolholder before operation.
