The KENNAMETAL 7026534 is a CCMT-style carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal in CNC and manual turning applications. It carries the KCP25C grade designation and features a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, Al2O3, and TiCN, which provides wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of cutting conditions. The insert has a diamond shape with an 80-degree included angle, a neutral hand orientation, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style. With a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius, it suits medium to finishing passes. Two cutting edges are available per insert, extending tool life between changes. Licensed HVAC techs and plumbers will recognize this as a precision machined component used upstream in their equipment manufacturing chain.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces. It is rated for positive rake geometry, making it well suited for lighter depth-of-cut applications where surface finish and edge consistency matter. The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium finishing cuts on ferrous materials. Machinists and toolroom technicians working on production or repair turning operations will find this insert compatible with screw-on style toolholders that accept CCMT seat geometry. Maximum depth of cut is 0.1268 inches, making it appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes rather than aggressive roughing.
Designed for use in screw-on style CCMT toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K). Industry standard number CCMT3251MF and ISO code CCMT09T304MF identify compatible toolholder seats. Conforms to ANSI and ISO insert standards.
Installation is performed by toolroom technicians or machinists. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified insert screw to seat the insert firmly without over-torquing, which can crack the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper contact and edge repeatability.
