The KENNAMETAL 7026450 is a VNMG331MN-style carbide turning insert in the KCP25C grade, designed for precision metal removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 that resists wear and thermal deformation during continuous and interrupted cuts. The diamond-shaped insert has a 35-degree included angle, a neutral hand orientation, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge. With a 0.0156-inch corner radius and a maximum depth of cut of 0.4354 inches, it handles finishing to medium roughing passes. Clamp and pin holding methods keep the insert secure under high feed forces. This insert is intended for installation by machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
The 7026450 is engineered for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations. Its KCP25C grade and CVD multilayer coating make it well suited for primary workpiece materials including steel and cast iron. The MN chip breaker geometry controls chip flow across a range of depths and feed rates, reducing cycle interruptions. It is cataloged under the KENNAMETAL KENLOC series and conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO designation of VNMG160404MN. Each insert provides four usable cutting edges, lowering per-edge tooling cost in high-volume production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for KENNAMETAL KENLOC series toolholders accepting VNMG-style inserts. Meets ANSI and ISO VNMG160404MN dimensional standards. Suitable for toolholders specifying a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch insert thickness, and 0.150-inch hole diameter.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for wear or damage before seating a new insert. Torque clamp screws to the toolholder manufacturer specifications only — do not estimate or reuse damaged hardware.
