The KENNAMETAL 7005327 is a replaceable drill tip in the KTFST series, designed for use with compatible indexable drill bodies in precision metalcutting operations. The tip is manufactured from fine-grain solid carbide with a KC7325 grade and features a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN dual-layer coating for elevated wear resistance and thermal stability. The 140-degree point angle and GTP insert geometry are suited to demanding hole-making in difficult materials. Coolant-through capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the tip, reducing heat buildup and aiding chip evacuation. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments are the primary installers of this consumable tooling component.
This drill tip is intended for use in ferrous and exotic workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. It is well suited to demanding applications such as drilling on inclined exits and drilling through stacked plates. The helical flute design with a regular spiral and two flutes with two margins promotes chip control and bore accuracy. The tip mounts via clamp holding method and fits seat size T.
Designed for use with KTFST series indexable drill bodies accepting insert seat size T. Compatible with primary workpiece materials in ISO groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and S (superalloys and titanium). ISO number for this tip is KTFST15500GTPM.
Installation of replaceable drill tips is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the drill body and seat are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the tip. Secure the tip using the designated clamp mechanism to the torque method specified in the drill body manufacturer documentation — do not over-torque or substitute fasteners. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and flow is confirmed before starting the cut.
