The KENNAMETAL 7002518 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with KTFST-series modular drilling systems. Manufactured from solid carbide with a fine grain substrate and grade KC7325, this tip features a PVD-applied dual coating of TiAlN and TiN for wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The 140-degree drill point angle provides a geometry suited for self-centering entry and reduced thrust in demanding applications. Through-coolant capability channels cutting fluid directly to the tip for chip evacuation and heat control. Licensed machinists and CNC tool setters working in production environments are the primary installers of this consumable tip.
This replaceable tip is intended for use in machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. Insert seat size K and the GTP insert geometry pair with compatible KTFST-series drill bodies. Typical applications include standard drilling, drilling on inclined exit surfaces, and stacked-plate drilling scenarios where controlled entry and exit geometry is critical. The helical flute design with regular spiral and two margins promotes chip flow in through-hole and blind-hole operations across a range of workpiece materials.
Designed for use with KTFST-series modular drill bodies accepting insert seat size K. ISO number KTFST10900GTPM identifies the seat and geometry requirements for compatible toolholders within the KTFST platform.
Installation of replaceable drill tips requires the appropriate clamp or torque key specified by the drill body manufacturer; consult the KTFST body documentation for the correct tool and procedure. Ensure the drill body seat and locating features are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the tip to prevent runout and premature wear. Machine spindle should be fully stopped and the machine locked out before performing any tip change. Proper coolant pressure and flow rate at the spindle should be confirmed to achieve the full benefit of the through-coolant feature.
