The KENNAMETAL 6771175 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with compatible indexable drill bodies in the KTFSS series. The tip measures 26.00 mm (1.0236 inches) in cutting diameter and features a 180-degree flat point geometry, making it suited for flat-bottom drilling, inclined entry and exit applications, and counterboring operations. Manufactured from fine grain solid carbide and coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, this tip delivers wear resistance in demanding cutting environments. The insert geometry is FEG, the seat size is ZD, and the tip uses a clamp-style holding method. Two flutes and four margins are integrated into the design, with straight flute and spiral geometry.
This replaceable drill tip is intended for machining steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, covering ISO material codes P, M, and K. It is applied in production drilling scenarios where flat-bottom bores, cross-hole exits, or inclined entry surfaces are encountered. The 180-degree point eliminates the need for pilot drilling into flat surfaces and supports consistent chip formation across these workpiece materials. It is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC machining centers and turning centers equipped with compatible KTFSS-series drill bodies.
Designed for use with KTFSS-series indexable drill bodies accepting ZD seat size inserts. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (ISO P, M, K). No coolant-through capability; external coolant or dry cutting only.
Installation and replacement of indexable drill tips should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout-tagout procedures. Use the correct torque driver and clamp hardware specified by the drill body manufacturer for the ZD seat size. Inspect the insert seat for chips, contamination, or wear before seating the new tip. Confirm tip is fully seated and clamped before resuming cutting operations.
