The KENNAMETAL 6771151 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use in modular drilling systems that accept KTFSS-series toolholders. Built from fine-grain solid carbide and coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, this tip delivers consistent cutting performance in demanding metal-removal applications. It measures 17.00 mm in cutting diameter with a 180-degree flat point angle, making it suited for flat-bottom and through-hole drilling operations. The insert seat size is V, and the tip is held in place by a clamp-style interface. Licensed HVAC, machining, and industrial trades install this component as part of a precision drilling setup where repeatable accuracy and fast tip changes are required.
This replaceable drill tip is intended for metalworking applications including standard drilling, flat-bottom drilling, inclined entry, inclined exit, and counterboring. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, and K. The straight flute and straight spiral geometry, combined with the AlTiN coating, support performance in both ferrous and harder workpiece materials. This tip ships individually and is compatible with KTFSS-series modular drill bodies designed for the V seat size.
Designed as a direct-fit replaceable tip for KTFSS-series modular drill bodies with a V insert seat, as identified by ISO number KTFSS17000FEGM. Compatible with primary workpiece materials steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (ISO codes P, M, K).
This tip is installed by machinists or toolroom technicians using the clamp-style holding method specified for KTFSS-series toolholders. Before replacing the tip, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out per LOTO procedures. Verify the insert seat and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the new tip. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping fastener.
