The KENNAMETAL 6771137 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with compatible KTFSS-series modular drilling systems. Manufactured from fine-grain solid carbide and coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, this tip delivers wear resistance and thermal stability during demanding drilling operations. The 180-degree flat point geometry allows flat-bottom drilling, inclined entry, inclined exit, and counterboring applications. At 0.6250 inches in cutting diameter with a 0.3125-inch functional length, this tip installs into a T-seat insert holder using a clamp-style holding method. It is intended for installation by machinists and tool and die professionals working in production or job shop environments.
This drill tip is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, corresponding to ISO workpiece material codes P, M, and K. The KTFSS series design supports flat-bottom holes, cross-hole drilling with inclined entry or exit, and counterboring operations. The two-flute, four-margin straight flute configuration promotes chip control and hole quality in these material groups. This tip does not include internal coolant-through capability, so external or flood coolant delivery should be accounted for in the machining setup.
Designed for use with KTFSS-series modular drill bodies requiring a T-seat replaceable tip. ISO number for this tip is KTFSS06250FEG. Verify seat size, insert geometry (FEG), and body series before ordering.
Installation of replaceable drill tips should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping procedure. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before tip removal or installation. Inspect the T-seat pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert, as contamination will affect runout and tip life. Follow the drill body manufacturer's specified clamping sequence — do not substitute fasteners or exceed the recommended clamp torque range published in the body documentation.
