The KENNAMETAL 6771134 is a replaceable drill tip designed for indexable drilling systems requiring precise flat-bottom and inclined-entry performance. Manufactured from solid carbide with a fine grain microstructure and a PVD-applied AlTiN coating, this tip delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across demanding machining cycles. The 180-degree flat point geometry is suited for drilling operations where a conventional conical point would compromise accuracy on flat or angled surfaces. With a cutting diameter of 15.00 mm and a straight flute design with four margins, this tip seats into KTFSS-series tool bodies and is clamped securely during operation. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians.
This drill tip is intended for machining steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces, covering ISO material groups P, M, and K. Typical applications include through-drilling, flat-bottom drilling, inclined entry and exit drilling, and counterboring operations on CNC machining centers and drilling machines. The straight spiral and two-flute configuration is well matched to rigid setups where controlled chip evacuation and consistent hole geometry are required. Coolant-through is not supported on this tip; external or flood coolant delivery is the appropriate method for thermal management.
Designed for use with KTFSS-series indexable drill bodies accepting insert seat size T. The ISO number for this tip is KTFSS15000FEGM. Consult the KENNAMETAL KTFSS toolholder selection guide to confirm body compatibility before ordering.
Replaceable drill tips of this type are installed and indexed by trained machinists or tooling technicians familiar with indexable carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before removing or seating the tip. Clean the seat and clamping surfaces before installation to prevent seating errors that could cause tip breakage. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping procedure; do not use impact tools on the clamp fastener.
