The KENNAMETAL 6771116 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with compatible modular drilling systems. Manufactured from fine-grain solid carbide in grade KCP15A and coated with an AlTiN finish via PVD process, this tip delivers consistent performance in demanding hole-making operations. It features a 10.00 mm cutting diameter, a 180-degree flat point geometry, and an FEG insert geometry designation. The J-seat configuration locks the tip securely into the tool body using a clamp-style holding method. Straight flutes and a straight spiral type contribute to stable chip flow in short-bore drilling scenarios.

This drill tip is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces across a range of drilling applications. Supported operations include flat-bottom drilling, inclined entry and exit drilling, and counterboring. The 2-flute, 4-margin, no-coolant-through design makes it appropriate for setups where through-spindle coolant is not available. It fits within the KTFSS series modular drill platform.

Installation Notes

Installation and indexing of replaceable drill tips should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out. Ensure the seat and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the tip. Use the correct clamping torque specified by the tool body manufacturer for the J-seat style. Do not operate this tip with through-coolant channels as it is a no-coolant-through design.
