The KENNAMETAL 6770637 is a ceramic turning insert manufactured to the DNGA431T0420 industry standard and offered in grade KYHK15B. This insert features an Alumina TiCN ceramic substrate with an AlTiN PVD coating and a T-Land cutting edge style, making it well suited for high-speed interrupted and continuous cutting operations. The diamond-shaped insert carries a 55-degree included angle, a neutral hand orientation, a negative rake angle, and a 0.0156-inch corner radius. Four cutting edges are available per insert. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in compatible KENLOC-style toolholders for precision material removal.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations. Primary workpiece material categories include cast iron, superalloys and titanium, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO material codes K, S, and H. The insert is part of the KENLOC series and conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards. It is appropriate for production-level machining environments where consistent tool life and controlled chip geometry are required on difficult-to-machine alloys and hardened workpiece materials.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders accepting DNGA-style inserts with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards; ISO designation DNGA150404T01020. Suitable for clamp and pin insert holding methods.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the toolholder must be secured in a locked turret position before seating or removing the insert. Use the appropriate clamp and pin hardware specified for KENLOC DNGA toolholders to ensure proper seating and prevent insert movement under cutting loads. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for damage or debris before each insert change.
