The KENNAMETAL 3775018 is a solid carbide milling insert in the EDPT series, designed for high-performance face and shoulder milling operations. Carrying the ISO designation EDPT10T308PDSRGE and ANSI code EP1008SGE, this insert features a parallelogram shape with a positive rake geometry and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style. The KCPK30 grade insert is CVD-coated with a multilayer TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 coating system, providing thermal resistance and wear protection across demanding cutting applications. With two cutting edges and a 15-degree relief angle, it is a right-hand, single-sided insert held in place by screw clamping. Licensed machinists and CNC milling technicians install this insert as part of indexable tooling setups.
This insert is rated for use across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material grades P, M, K, and S. It is compatible with the Kennametal Mill 1-10 cutter series. Typical applications include roughing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials in both production shop and job shop environments. The GE chip breaker geometry helps manage chip flow and reduce cutting forces, making it suitable for moderate to aggressive feed rates in milling applications where consistent edge life is required.
Designed for use with the Kennametal Mill 1-10 cutter series. Insert size code 10T308 with an inscribed circle of 0.2650 inches and a corner radius of 1/32 inch. Compatible holders must accommodate single-sided, screw-held parallelogram inserts in the EDPT series with right-hand orientation.
Installation is performed by licensed machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
