The KENNAMETAL 3684828 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ISO designation EDCT10T331PDERLD and ANSI code EC1031ELD. It is manufactured to a KC725M grade and features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering hard-wearing performance in interrupted and continuous milling operations. The insert has a parallelogram shape with a 70-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry, and a honed cutting edge style. Thickness measures 0.148 inches and inscribed circle diameter measures 0.264 inches. Two cutting edges are available per insert. It is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method and is designed for right-hand cutting.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials, corresponding to material grade codes P, M, and S. It is suited to both roughing and finishing operations where a positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces and the LD chip breaker controls chip flow effectively. Compatible with the Mill 1-10 cutter series, it fits applications ranging from face milling to shoulder milling in production machining environments. Machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, general manufacturing, and job-shop settings will find this insert appropriate for demanding material removal cycles.
Compatible with the Kennametal Mill 1-10 cutter series. Insert size code 10T331 conforms to ANSI and ISO standards, allowing use in any toolholder pocket dimensioned to that specification.
Insert replacement should be performed with the spindle locked out and the machine de-energized per your facility lockout/tagout procedure. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or damage before installing a fresh insert. Confirm insert orientation matches the right-hand cutting direction before resuming operation.
