The KENNAMETAL 2037058 is a screw machine length solid carbide drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in cast iron and steel. Built to DIN 6537K standards, it features a 140-degree point angle and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life in demanding production environments. The 6.40 mm diameter and stub-length geometry provide rigidity and accuracy in short-reach applications. The web-thinned, standard point configuration reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. This bit is sized for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automatic screw machines where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality are required. Licensed machinists and tooling professionals are the primary installers.
This drill bit is suited for production drilling in ferrous materials including cast iron and steel. The screw machine length format keeps overhang minimal, which reduces deflection and supports consistent hole geometry in high-cycle operations. With a maximum drilling depth of 24.00 mm and an overall length of 79.00 mm, it fits standard toolholders used in both manual and CNC setups. The straight cylindrical shank with an 8.00 mm shank diameter seats cleanly in collet chucks and drill chucks without modification.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for screw machine length solid carbide drill bits in the 0.2500 to 0.3000 inch (5.00 to 6.50 mm) size range per the B966A series. Intended for use in straight-shank collet chucks and drill chucks accepting an 8.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down the spindle and confirm zero energy state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or chuck and torque the retention hardware to machine manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production to confirm seating and protect hole tolerance.
