The KENNAMETAL 1023681 is an indexable chamfer end mill designed for chamfering and angular milling operations on metal workpieces. It features a 60-degree lead angle and accepts a single SDEB 26152 insert secured by a screw-clamp holding method, keeping setup straightforward and insert changes fast. The cutting diameter range spans 0.46 inches to 0.981 inches, and the 0.5-inch Weldon Flat shank provides positive rotational drive in the toolholder. With a maximum spindle speed of 11,000 RPM, this tool suits CNC machining centers and manual mills used in production and job-shop environments. Licensed machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC programmers are the typical end users.
This chamfer mill is suited for creating consistent chamfers, bevels, and countersinks on ferrous and non-ferrous materials in both light production runs and prototype work. The KIPR toolholder style designation helps identify the correct mating toolholder for this assembly. Its 3.0-inch overall length and 1.22-inch head length allow clearance in standard mill spindles without requiring extended-reach setup modifications. The 0.136-inch maximum depth of cut is appropriate for single-pass chamfering on flat and angled features.
Designed for use with KIPR-style toolholders and takes the SDEB 26152 insert style. Verify insert and toolholder compatibility with KENNAMETAL tooling catalogs before ordering.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and locked out per machine-specific lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the Weldon Flat shank fully into the toolholder bore and torque the set screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification before running. Inspect the indexable insert seating and clamping screw torque before each production run. Follow all applicable shop safety standards and machine-tool manufacturer guidelines during setup.
