The KENNAMETAL 1023680 is an indexable chamfer end mill designed for precision chamfering and beveling operations on metal workpieces. Built around a 60-degree lead angle, this tool accepts two SDEB 26152 inserts secured by screw clamp retention within a KIPR-style toolholder body. It covers a cutting diameter range of 0.75 inches to 1.271 inches with a maximum depth of cut of 0.136 inches. At 3.25 inches overall length and rated to 10,500 RPM, it is engineered for CNC machining centers and manual mills where repeatable chamfer geometry and fast insert changeout are required. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive and reduces slippage under lateral cutting loads.
This end mill is suited for production and job-shop environments running ferrous and non-ferrous materials where consistent chamfer angles are critical. It is typically applied in aerospace, automotive, and general precision machining applications. The 0.136-inch maximum depth of cut makes it appropriate for chamfering drilled holes, deburring edges, and preparing mating surfaces for assembly. With two cutting positions per loaded insert set and a screw-held insert system, tooling changeover is fast and indexing is repeatable without removing the holder from the spindle.
Designed for use with KIPR-style toolholder systems and compatible with SDEB 26152 insert style. Consult KENNAMETAL insert selection resources to confirm insert grade for the target workpiece material.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's spindle interface specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Confirm insert seating and screw torque according to the insert manufacturer's toolholder documentation before initiating a cut. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm concentricity within the tolerance required for the application.
