The KENNAMETAL 1023642 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill designed for high-precision milling operations in metalworking environments. Built around the KIPR cutter style with a Weldon flat shank, this tool accepts SDEB 2615 inserts secured by screw-holding method. It carries a 0.75-inch cutting diameter, a maximum depth of cut of 0.28 inches (7.11 mm), and a 0-degree lead angle for true 90-degree shoulder milling. With 2 flutes and a maximum spindle speed of 10,500 RPM, it suits both roughing and finishing passes in steel, cast iron, and similar materials. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals, it fits standard vertical and horizontal machining centers.
The 1023642 is suited for square-shoulder milling applications on CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with Weldon flat collets or end mill holders. Its 0-degree lead angle enables clean, perpendicular shoulder walls without the axial force associated with positive-lead toolholders. The 3.25-inch overall length and 2.03-inch shank length provide adequate reach for most standard fixture setups while maintaining rigidity. This tool is a practical choice for job shops and production environments requiring repeatable shoulder and peripheral milling in a 0.75-inch diameter range.
Designed for use with SDEB 2615 indexable inserts. Toolholder style is KIPR. Compatible with end mill holders and Weldon flat collet systems accepting a 0.75-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Secure the Weldon flat shank in a properly sized end mill holder and torque the setscrew against the flat to manufacturer specifications for your holder system. Confirm insert seating and screw torque before initiating any spindle rotation. Follow all machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures before changing inserts or removing the tool from the spindle.
