The KENNAMETAL 1023604 is a 2-flute indexable square-shoulder end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking environments. Built around the KICR cutter style, it accepts two SPEB 322 inserts secured by screw-type holding. The tool features a 1-inch cutting diameter, a maximum depth of cut of 0.34 inches (8.64 mm), and a 4-inch overall length. Through-coolant capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, extending insert life and improving chip evacuation at speeds up to 10000 RPM. A lead angle of 0 degrees enables true square-shoulder cuts with minimal radial force. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tool setup technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for square-shoulder milling and center-cutting applications on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The Weldon flat shank, measuring 0.75 inches (19.05 mm) in diameter and 2.03 inches (51.56 mm) in length, provides positive drive engagement in standard end mill holders and side-lock tool holders. The through-coolant design makes it well-matched for deep-pocket and high-feed-rate applications where heat and chip buildup are concerns. With ISO designation KICR100SP3034C, this tool indexes directly into compatible KENNAMETAL KICR-series tooling systems.
Uses two SPEB 322 indexable inserts. ISO designation KICR100SP3034C identifies compatibility within the KENNAMETAL KICR-series square-shoulder milling system. Designed for use in standard Weldon flat end mill holders with a 0.75-inch bore.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the spindle fully de-energized and the machine in a locked-out, tagged-out state. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the tool holder and torque the side-lock screw per the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify insert seating and screw torque before resuming cutting operations. Enable through-coolant supply prior to engaging the cut to prevent thermal shock to inserts.
