The KENNAMETAL 1015952 is a DA180 Double Angle Reamer Collet Chuck designed for precision reaming operations on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. The chuck features a 1.5-inch straight shank and a 2.88-inch projection length, providing the reach and rigidity required for accurate bore finishing. The collet capacity ranges from 1/32 inch to 3/4 inch, accommodating a wide variety of reamer shank sizes. Through-coolant capability directs cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, improving chip evacuation, extending tool life, and maintaining dimensional accuracy in close-tolerance bores. Machinists and toolroom technicians use this chuck in production and job-shop environments.
This collet chuck is suited for reaming applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where bore size and surface finish tolerances are tight. The DA180 double angle collet system provides a secure, concentric grip on straight-shank reamers. With a locknut diameter of 2.38 inches and a float from center of 0.10 inch, the chuck accommodates minor misalignment during floating reaming operations, reducing the risk of bell-mouthing or taper in the finished bore. Typical installations include horizontal and vertical machining centers in automotive, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments.
Designed for use with DA180 series double angle reamer collets. Compatible with machine spindles or toolholders accepting a 1.5-inch straight shank. Consult collet manufacturer specifications to confirm individual collet sizes within the 1/32-inch to 3/4-inch capacity range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with collet chuck systems. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the chuck. Ensure the shank bore and collet seats are clean and free of chips or coolant deposits before assembly, as contamination will affect runout. Torque the locknut using the appropriate DA180 spanner wrench to manufacturer specification; do not use pipe wrenches or improvised tools on the locknut flats.
