The KENNAMETAL 1015311 is a DA300-series double angle collet chuck with a straight shank, designed for precision tool holding on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. It accepts collets ranging from 1/64 inch to 1/4 inch capacity, delivering a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0001 inches for tight-tolerance work. Through-spindle coolant capability routes cutting fluid directly to the tool tip, supporting extended tool life in demanding cutting applications. The 1/2-inch diameter straight shank and 5.42-inch shank length provide secure spindle engagement, while the 1.39-inch projection positions the collet nut close to the workpiece for rigid setups.
This collet chuck is suited for production and job-shop environments where repeatability and low runout are required. The DA300 collet system is a widely used standard in light-to-medium milling, drilling, and reaming operations on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The wrench-actuated collet nut allows controlled clamping torque and straightforward collet changes at the machine. Its balanced-to-8000 RPM rating makes it appropriate for moderate-speed spindle applications in both manual and CNC toolrooms.
Designed for use with DA300-series double angle collets. Accepts tooling from 1/64 inch to 1/4 inch shank diameter. Compatible with spindles accepting a 1/2-inch straight shank interface.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Disengage spindle power and confirm the machine is in a locked-out, zero-energy state before mounting or removing the chuck. Use the specified wrench on the collet nut hex — do not use pliers or pipe wrenches, as damage to the nut seating surface will degrade TIR. Verify coolant line connections and confirm through-spindle coolant pressure is within machine specifications before running the spindle.
