The KANTECH US HID-PP6005B is a proximity card reader designed for access control applications. It reads proximity credentials and communicates with an access control panel to grant or deny entry. The unit is finished in gray and is sold individually. Security integrators and low-voltage electricians are the typical installers for this type of device. It falls within the HID ProxPoint Plus product family and is suited for door-mounted credential reading in commercial and institutional environments.
The HID-PP6005B is used in commercial access control installations where proximity card or fob credentials are required at entry points. Typical installations include interior and exterior doors in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and light industrial sites. The reader is mounted at the door frame or mullion and wired back to an access control panel or controller.
Designed as an OEM-style proximity reader for use with access control systems that accept standard HID proximity reader wiring and output protocols.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage technician or security system integrator. Power down the access control panel and associated door hardware before wiring the reader. Follow local low-voltage wiring codes and the access control panel manufacturer wiring diagrams for correct output connections. Do not expose the reader to voltages beyond its rated input range.
