The ISCAR 6492384 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and parting operations on CNC turning centers and lathes. Part of the Cut-Grip series, it features a 4.00 mm cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 2.40 mm, making it well suited for tight-tolerance groove profiles. The insert is coated with an Al2O3 finish applied via PVD process and carries a manufacturer grade of IC8250, which is engineered for wear resistance in demanding cutting conditions. Installation is performed by qualified machinists and toolroom technicians using a clamp-style holder.

This insert is intended for grooving stainless steel and steel workpieces in production turning environments, both light manufacturing and heavy-duty shop applications. The neutral hand orientation allows flexible positioning in compatible Cut-Grip toolholders. The double-ended design extends usable tool life by providing two cutting edges per insert.
