The ISCAR 6411152 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the Cut-Grip series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a TiCN coating applied via PVD process, which provides wear resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. With a cutting width of 0.126 inches (3.20 mm) and a positive rake angle of 7 degrees, this left-hand insert is engineered for consistent chip control and clean groove geometry. The W-style chip breaker helps manage chip flow at the cutting zone. Machinists and CNC operators working in production shops install this type of insert as a direct replacement in compatible Cut-Grip toolholders.
This insert is suited for grooving and cutoff applications in both light and moderate production environments. Primary workpiece materials include stainless steel and carbon steel, corresponding to ISO material codes M and P. The GIM-style insert with size code 328 fits into Cut-Grip series clamping systems that use a clamp and screw holding method. It is a single-end insert, meaning one cutting edge per insert body, which is standard for grooving applications that require precise width control. This part is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in ISCAR Cut-Grip series toolholders that accept GIM-style inserts with size code 328 and a clamp or screw holding method. Verify toolholder hand orientation before installation.
This insert is installed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert seat and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating the new insert, as contamination can affect runout and cutting width accuracy.
