The ISCAR 6405294 is a solid carbide boring, chamfering, and profiling bar designed for precision internal machining operations on small-diameter bores. Built from submicron-grade carbide, it delivers the wear resistance and edge stability required for tight-tolerance work in hardened and abrasive materials. The bar handles a minimum bore diameter of 2.80 mm (0.1102 inches) and a maximum bore depth of 10.00 mm (0.3937 inches), with a 4.00 mm shank diameter and a 24.00 mm overall length. A 0.0040-inch corner radius supports accurate profiling and chamfering transitions. This tool is installed by machinists and tool-and-die technicians working on CNC lathes, Swiss-type machines, and small-bore turning centers.
This boring bar is suited for small-part internal turning applications where bore diameter access is restricted. Typical use cases include precision components in medical device manufacturing, watchmaking, aerospace fasteners, and hydraulic fittings where sub-3 mm bore entry is required. The right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation on conventional turning setups. Its compact 24.00 mm overall length suits short-overhang tooling configurations common in gang-slide and turret setups on Swiss and CNC lathes.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide boring bar for use in 4.00 mm shank toolholders and compatible small-bore turning systems where right-hand internal cutting tools are required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an e-stop or locked-out state. The 4.00 mm shank must be secured in a properly sized collet or toolholder to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure. Confirm boring bar runout with a dial indicator before engaging the cut. Handle solid carbide tooling carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge during setup.
