The ISCAR 6405115 is the GIP635080E grooving insert in grade IC808, designed for precision external grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. This double-ended insert is manufactured from solid carbide with a PVD-applied AlTiN, TiAlN, and TiN multilayer coating, providing high wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous cuts. It features a 6.35 mm (0.2500 inch) cutting width, a maximum depth of cut of 3.80 mm (0.1496 inch), and a 0.80 mm (0.0315 inch) corner radius. The neutral hand orientation and positive 7-degree rake angle reduce cutting forces and improve chip flow. Compatibility

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. The machine spindle must be stopped and all axes locked out before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate ISCAR Cut-Grip clamping key to secure the insert fully before resuming operation. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated depth of cut for the insert grade and chip breaker in use.
