The ISCAR 6403989 is a chamfering boring bar designed for internal chamfering and bore preparation operations on small-diameter workpieces. Built from submicron solid carbide with a TiAlN and TiN finish coating, this bar delivers the hardness and wear resistance required for demanding machining environments. It features a right-hand cutting direction, a minimum bore diameter of 0.1575 inches, a maximum bore depth of 0.5906 inches, and an overall length of 1.1811 inches. The 20-degree bar end angle and 0.001-inch corner radius make it well-suited for precise internal chamfering work. Installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians, this bar fits into standard small-bore toolholding systems.
This chamfering boring bar is intended for small-bore internal machining applications where tight dimensional tolerances and controlled chamfer geometry are required. The 4.00 mm shank diameter and 30.00 mm overall length position it for use in swiss-style lathes, CNC turning centers, and precision boring machines handling small-diameter bores starting at 4.00 mm. The IC908 manufacturer grade indicates suitability for machining a broad range of workpiece materials including steels and stainless alloys at moderate to high cutting speeds. Designed as an OEM-style replacement boring bar for use in standard small-bore internal toolholding systems accepting a 4.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the boring bar from the toolholder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the toolholder clamping mechanism is properly engaged before beginning any cutting operation. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use, as carbide tools can fracture under interrupted cuts or improper setup.
