The ISCAR 6403913 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for small-diameter internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.2362 inches (6.00 mm) and an overall length of 1.378 inches (35.00 mm), this bar is built for tight, confined bores where rigidity and precision are critical. The TiAlN and TiN finish coatings improve wear resistance and extend tool life in a range of workpiece materials. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle configurations. ISCAR grade IC1008 is a fine-grain carbide grade suited to demanding finishing and semi-finishing applications.
This boring bar is used in precision small-bore machining applications, including those found in medical components, hydraulic fittings, fuel system parts, and aerospace components where bore diameters in the 6.00 mm range are common. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators working with lathes, turning centers, or live-tool mill-turn machines. The compact geometry makes it well suited to shallow bore depths up to 0.0787 inches (2.00 mm).
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide boring bar for use in standard tool-holding systems that accept 6.00 mm shank diameter boring bars on CNC lathes and turning centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the boring bar in a compatible tool holder rated for the shank diameter before powering the machine. Confirm spindle direction and feed parameters match the right-hand cutting configuration before initiating a cut. Follow the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when changing or setting tooling.
