The ISCAR 6403886 is an end replaceable milling tip engineered for thread milling operations in the Multimaster modular tooling system. Designated MM TRD16-M60-15P-3T06, this carbide tip features three flutes, a 0.6180-inch cutting diameter, and a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process. The sub-micrograin carbide substrate and IC908 grade deliver the edge toughness and wear resistance required for threading operations in demanding workpiece materials. A 90-degree lead angle and 90-degree included angle define the cutting geometry. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary installers and users of this tip.
The 6403886 is suited for thread milling on machining centers and CNC mills where a modular, replaceable-tip format reduces downtime and tooling cost. It is rated for use across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H. Right-hand cutting orientation. No chipbreaker geometry. Coolant-through is not supported on this tip. The insert size designation is D16-M60-15P and the series is MM TRD-M.
Designed for use with ISCAR Multimaster modular toolholders accepting the MM TRD-M series end replaceable tips. Conforms to ANSI standards. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before mounting or removing the replaceable tip. Follow the torque and assembly procedure specified in the ISCAR Multimaster toolholder documentation for this tip size. Inspect the mating interface on the toolholder for wear or contamination before seating the new tip.
