The ISCAR 6403815 is a solid carbide chamfering boring bar designed for precision internal chamfering and small-bore machining operations. It features a right-hand cutting direction and a TiCN finish coating, which provides wear resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting conditions. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.1575 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1.063 inches, this bar is suited for tight-tolerance work in small bores. The manufacturer grade is IC228, a carbide grade optimized for a range of workpiece materials. Overall length is 1.6548 inches. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators working with lathes and boring machines.
This chamfering boring bar is intended for internal chamfering operations where bore access is limited. The 0.1575-inch minimum bore diameter makes it applicable to small-diameter internal features common in precision component machining, including aerospace, medical device, and general metalworking applications. The shank diameter is 4 millimeters, and the tool is packaged as a single unit. It is used in both manual and CNC turning centers where accurate chamfer geometry and consistent tool life are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-use chamfering boring bar for turning centers and boring machines accepting a 4-millimeter shank diameter tooling system.
This boring bar is installed by machinists on CNC or manual turning centers; ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all motion is locked out before changing or setting tooling. Secure the shank firmly in the tool holder to the holder manufacturer's specified clamping method to prevent tool pullout during cutting. Verify bore clearances and runout before engaging the cut, as the small shank diameter makes this bar sensitive to misalignment. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine tool operating standards when handling carbide tooling.
