The ISCAR 6403677 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for internal turning and bore finishing operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. It delivers a minimum bore diameter of 0.236 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1.614 inches, making it well suited for tight-diameter, deep-reach applications. The bar carries a TiN finish coating and is manufactured to ISCAR grade IC228, a carbide grade optimized for steel and cast iron at moderate to high cutting speeds. Overall length is 2.241 inches with a 6.00 mm shank diameter. A 0.006-inch corner radius supports fine finishing passes with controlled surface finish. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tooling in production and job shop environments.
This boring bar fits small-bore internal machining applications where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are critical. The solid carbide construction resists deflection at extended depths relative to bore diameter, making it appropriate for precision finish boring rather than heavy roughing. Typical applications include part features in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron on CNC turning centers. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation on the majority of CNC lathes. It is packaged individually and ordered in single-unit quantities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit boring bar for CNC turning centers and lathes accepting a 6.00 mm shank diameter boring bar holder.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or adjusting the boring bar in its holder. Verify shank clamp torque against the toolholder manufacturer specification and confirm tool stick-out does not exceed the maximum recommended by the holder. Do not use this bar for interrupted cuts or heavy roughing passes beyond its rated bore depth.
